Message from the Director

Public health is a growing and essential field of study.  During the twentieth century, public health efforts improved overall quality of life and increased life expectancy. More recently, emphasis has been placed on achieving health equity and addressing social determinants of health.

The United States Bureau of Labor Statistics 10-year job projections anticipate a 23.8% growth in the public health field. All of the major content areas in public health are covered in the B.S. in Public Health major. In addition, majors gain practical, hands-on experience through coursework, including their internship/independent study and numerous other opportunities.
