Research Interests

My research examines the inflammatory and hormonal responses to exercise and/or nutrition interventions. Specifically, how can exercise and/or nutrition be used to limit the inflammatory processes that contribute to diseases related to physical inactivity (i.e., obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, metabolic syndrome, etc.). Additionally, I am interested in developing and/or examining exercise training, nutrition or nutritional supplement strategies to improve athletic performance for athletes of all levels and sports.
