Michelle Futrell, MA, ATC

Michelle Futrell currently serves as the Clinical Coordinator for the CAATE accredited Athletic Training Education Program. In this position she directs the Clnical Education Assignments for students enrolled in the Athletic Training Education Program. She also serves as the program's Clinical Instructor Educator. Ms. Futrell teaches courses within Athletic Training Major and is also actively involved in the First Year Experience program on campus. Prior to taking on this role, she served as the Director of Sports Medicine at the College of Charleston and directed the health care for all student athletes at the College of Charleston. Ms. Futrell is an alumnus of the College of Charleston. She is married to the Women's Golf Coach and they have two children.

Research Interests

Ms. Futrell's areas of interest include the use of games, technology and interactive activities to enhance student learning. Other interests include improving clinical education experiences for students and clniical instructors through the use of technology. In addition, she is interested in injury prevention as well as the fitness and overall health of sport officials, with her primary focus being basketball officials.
